Prometheus II Speaker Kit

Prometheus II Driver Kit. $1999. (Add a second Titan sub amp for Stereo Bass, $2200).

Obligatto Foil&Oil Cap with tiny Bypass Cap installed. These caps are used on the tweeter for a 6db slope at 12,500hz. The wideband has no crossover.

This is the picture of the 45' chamfer cut for the wideband. You can use any wood between .75" to 1.25" inch for the baffle. You must always leave .3" unchamfered no matter what the thickness of the wood.

This is a picture of the hookup at the wideband there is no crossover network. A resistor for flattening the impedence curve and the optional Speaker Magic Twin are soldered to the outside teminals. (Magic Twins are RF filters for cutting any noise about 30,000 hz, they also are available for RCA cables or Speakers. $120 Pair.) Soldered to the lower terminal is the output to the tweeter drivers and at 90 degree's the inputs from the amplifier. I tuck the input speaker wire behind the tweeter wire which goes through the lower terminal. I squeeze it with a pair of needle nose plyers then solder the wires together for a neat clean connection.

Just one example of how to build a baffle for the Prometheus II kit. Notice the Tommessin bass amps mounted on the lower shelf of the audio rack. They can be mounted inside the sub cabinet but Robert does not recomend placing them in the same airspace as the sub woofer driver. The Tommessin has now been replaced with a custom made Bastanis Plate Amp called the Titan.

The Titan Plate Amp offer 200 watts and is fully adjustable from 30 Hz to 160 Hz with a 24db slope crossover. Phase is adjustable from 0 to 180 and there is a custom built in EQ curve to extend the lowest octave from the Prometheus Sub Driver.

This is a picture of the fully assembled Prometheus Kit. The subs are made from 1"mdf and veenered. While the tall baffles are 3/4" furniture grade red oak plywood. Finish is Minwax natural stain and clear satin polyurethane spray. Simple yet professional look.

This is the baffle glued directly to the side of the sub cabinet. You can use clear silicone for a removable solution, wood glue for a permanent situation.
