Bastanis Dragonfly Speaker Kit

Dragonfly Driver Kit. Picture shows both the Hornet tweeter driver and the larger Dragonfly tweeter driver (also used in the Prometheus II kit)

Dragonfly Wideband Driver all wired up with the Tweeter Driver screwed on back. The inline resistors and cap soldered in place. Cap is held with a dab of silicone and soldered directly to the positive terminal. Notice the grounding wire from the negitive on the wideband terminal to the basket which continues up to a tweeter driver screw and finally terminates at the tweeter negitive terminal. (This is recommended by Robert to improve the sound quality, you amp must be referenced to ground. If UNSURE: DO NOT ATTEMPT this Grounding Scheme)!

This is a birdseye view of the throat of the internal horn, looking straight down from the wideband magnets perspective. The air is forced down the horn then up and out the back, down the quasi transmission line, finally exiting out the bottom where it couples with the room. Lots of folks have tried to make bass this way with limited success or downright failed. The Dragonfly is spot on balls acturate, tight clean bass that defy's logic, I measured 38 hz in my 11X18X8 ft room.

This is my Demo Dragonflys in Cherry flanked by a pair of Prometheus Subs for perspective on size. In this picture I was comparing my custom Ladyday 300B SET's with a pair of the new Ladyday WE91's. The Dragonfly's actually behaved quite well concidering they where trying to fill a room that is 18X24 with a 16 foot cathedral ceiling. Notice how I have them positioned closer to the wall than where my Prometheus Baffles normally live. In the end the WE91 put out subjectively more power and bass and was my preference with the Dragonfly's in a large room.
