The Bastanis Apollo Room (7915)
=====================================

The Bastanis Apollo's on Sunday afternoon with Jeffrey Jackson's Surrender 2a3 amps. www.experiencemusic.net The 100db/1watt Apollo's did not "Surrender" with under 3 watts of total power, they simply revealed another flavor of sound. Rich Brown continued to spin his collection of master tapes to everyone's delight. (Thanks Jeff & Rich for the ear candy).

removable rear grill plate.

Our main amp for the 2005 Apollo Room was a new design by Gary Pimm. A mosfet amp that thinks it's a SET amp, don't ask me how it works, but it sure did sound great. Thanks Gary! gpimm@pacifier.com To the right is Rich Brown's tubed Stellavox reel to reel and Robert Bastani's Music First transformer volume control. For CD/SACD we used Tony Landry's Sony 9000ES which was modified by Allen Wright. www.vacuumstate.com Combined they revealed what the Bastanis Apollo Speakers are all about. (The Apollo's are now playing at our new dealer, Audio Specialties of Albuqeurque, NM. If you are in the neighborhood stop by and Tony will show you how they in shine in a 25' X 35" listening room). www.audiospecialtiesofnm.com

The new open baffle Bastanis Prometheus Wood speakers with solid Bubinga baffles. (Matching Bubinga faceplates for the subs where removed)

Hiding in the left corner is the Prometheus Black. The Blacks are now playing at Galibier Design near Denver, CO. www.galibierdesign.com Stop by and Thom Mackris will show how they sound in a proper environment. On the right, Brian Cherry contemplates the meaning of life. No, he's actually thinking "who the hell is going to pack all this gear up, I've had it".

Bill Allen and Brian Cherry still smiling at the end of the show on Sunday. To the right is the Chazz headphone amp and a static display of Brian's new gear. From the top is the "new" Django followed by the Lux CD Transport, Gate and Satch DA Converters. All four components share a single remote control. They will be available along with a new carbon graphite Bix turntable by the end of the year. In the foreground is the TJ triode tube lineup. 45, 50, 2a3, 300B, PX4, PX25 and the new 300B+ Graphite Plate with up to 20 watts of output.

Once again this year we had to rely on my modified Audio Alchemy ACD Pro CD system. In the middle was the surprise of the show in my opinion, Brian Cherry's new Tram W.O.T. linestage preamp. Unfortunatly we waited till Sunday to put this gem in our system. Awesome, a true best buy. (I made the mistake of letting Tony Landry try my Tram with the Bastanis Apollo's in his showroom in Albuquerque on my way back to Phoenix. Now I'm afraid I will never see it again). To the right is a closer look at the new DIY HiFi Supply gear.
